Getting creative with your new apartment, no matter the size, can be difficult. Us apartment dwellers are faced with a ton of challenges when it comes to home decor. This is because many of us do not have the luxury of living in large spaces, so it’s essential that we learn to the art of improvisation.
Lofts and studios are super popular in a big metropolitan areas like Boston, so here are some really cool, chic ideas for the trendy city girl:
- Utilizing space is very important
When you don’t have a lot of square footage to work with, that usually means very little closet space. It’s important to get creative, take a trip to IKEA (or Target, if you are more of the budget conscious type) and build your own storage.
2. Play with texture
The majority of lofts come with the industrial exposed brick, so you can continue to incorporate more textures to give it a kick of character. Pictured here is a textured rug to add more movement to the room.
3. Pops of color
Since lofts are naturally industrial looking, its important to incorporate little pops of color to prevent it from looking like a factory.
4. Play with traditional and modern styles
Transitional style (a mix of traditional and modern) is trending right now in any apartment. Perhaps because this theme gives you the best of both worlds. You can incorporate a traditional couch with an industrial table, or metal chairs with a classical chandelier.
5. Eclectic Art
