Fenty Beauty came out in September of 2017, making a splash in the makeup industry. Fenty Beauty was, to say the least, controversial. Coming out with 40 shades in her first launch was risky but Rihanna wanted to be able to give every skin color the opportunity to wear great quality makeup and feel beautiful.
Releasing over 80 products, this was a huge step for Fenty Beauty. They came out with everything from foundation to a lip gloss. Nervous to give it a try? We’re here to give you the full rundown of Fenty Beauty! Is it even worth it?
Pro Filt’r Instant Retouch Primer- $32
With the primer, we have only read positive feedback. The primer moisturizes your skin and keeps it tacky so your foundation will stick on for a longer period of time. It may seem expensive but for the quality and amount you’re getting it’s worth it.

Pro Filt’r Soft Matte Long Wear Foundation- $34
Foundation, a must have when trying out the Fenty Beauty line. Fenty came out with 40 shades in order to accommodate all different skin colors.
The overall review for the foundation was well liked. The coverage is medium, you can make it full if you are willing to use more product and go over it multiple times.
The foundation does try quickly, so you will need to work fast. Another important tip is that the foundation does oxidize. When you are swatching the foundation, let it dry, and then see how well it matches your skin.

Match Sticks Matte Skin Sticks- $25
The match sticks were either something people loved and they absolutely hatted. With the matte skin sticks, most people did not feel that it worked well as a liquid concealer.
They felt it dried their under eyes out and made them crease. As a contour stick, the contour worked nicely. The key with the skin sticks is finding out which ones worked best for your skin color and your personal preference.
Pro tip: DO NOT apply the cream skin sticks directly to your skin or they will rub your foundation off. Use a brush and apply in a patting motion.

Match Sticks Shimmer Skin Sticks- $25
Fenty Beauty released 10 shimmer skin sticks which are great for highlighting and even eye shadow. The problem is, that some of the colors do not appear to be a “bright” as they should be. The shimmer sticks are still hard to apply straight from the tube itself so again, apply on a brush first then to your face.

Killawatt Freestyle Highlight- $34
Highlighters, the “highlight” of Fenty Beauty. There are 2 single highlights then 4 duo highlighters. With highlighters, personal preference is key. Trophy wife is said to be best used on darker skin tones, since the gold will pop better. If it works for you, then be our guest and sparkle! The duo highlighters come with a settle highlight then a sparkly highlight. Most people used the sparkly highlight to give the look pop. These were well liked and can be used an eye shadow.

Gloss Bomb Universal Lip Lumminizer- $18
This gloss is loved by all. Gloss Bomb can be used by itself or you can put it on top of a liquid lipstick or a normal one. A plus side that most people are excited about is that it’s not as sticky as other lip glosses.

Invisimatter Blotting Powder- $32
The blotting powder was a great addition to the line, but is not needed for everyone. If you have a brand you love, stick to it because these aren’t anything out of this world. A lot of people used it as a setting powder. It is translucent so that helps a lot of people with a picture perfect finish!

Full Bodied Foundation Brush- $34
A brush to put you foundation on gives a lot of variety to those who enjoy brushes. This brush is said to be the best when it comes to applying your foundation.
It goes on easily, allows you to have full coverage, and keeps a majority of the makeup on your face.

Cheek- Hugging Highlight Brush- $32
Beauty gurus are living for this brush. The shape of it is allowing them to get the highlight exactly how they want it to be and leaves almost no makeup on the actual brush.

Travel Size Brushes: Contour, highlight, brush up- $24, $14, $24
These are not something you need to buy, truthfully. If you want more brushes go a head, they work great but in the end they are not something you need in order to achieve the best look possible. They are easy to take on the go, so if that is something you are interested in then these are great for you.
5/10 recommend
Precision makeup sponge- $16
The sponge is a no for most people who tried it, this is due to the fact that the sponge is not as easy to use when putting your makeup on. It soaks in most of your makeup, resulting in you using more just to finish the look. It is not worth your money and you should spend the extra $4 on a beauty blender instead.

Final Thoughts:
Fenty Beauty is one that’s going to be around for a while. You can see that they put a lot of effort into making these products and it shows. An upside of the makeup is that it does last all day. Not having to worry about your makeup or fix it throughout the day is worth spending those extra dollars.
Don’t be afraid to go into Sephora and get skin matched. They are willing to help and they will give you THE perfect match!
