For Training/Running: New Balance Fresh Foam Vongo

Price: Men’s $69.99 – $129.99, Women’s $64.95 – $129.99
This one was by far the toughest pick. Everyone has a different running style, and no shoe is loved by all who try it. However, New Balance’s Fresh Foam Vongo probably comes the closest. This shoe is perfect for training because it provides great support while still being a shoe light enough for even the quickest runners. These are also pretty durable and will last you a while. However, always make sure the running shoe works for you; you can get seriously injured from running with a shoe that doesn’t match your specifications.
For Walking: Asics GEL-Tech Neo 4

Price: Men’s $80.00 – $110.95, Women’s $79.99 – $135.80
For those who prefer a slower pace, Asics Neo 4’s are for you. These shoes provide even more support than the Vongo’s and will keep you comfortable throughout your treks. Don’t let concrete stop you with knee or ankle pain; opt for this pair which will keep you happy and moving for hours on end.
For the Gym/Weightlifting: Adidas Performance Powerlift.3

Price: Men’s $55.24 – $159.50, Women’s $45.00 – $159.95
The main appeal of the Powerlift.3 is that they have a lower heel than most weight lifting shoes. This makes an easy transition from regular gym sneakers to a designated lifting pair. Plus, with the lower heel, you can be comfortable and supported doing a variety of exercises rather than being constrained to Olympic lifting. These shoes are great whether you’ve just started lifting seriously or are already on the competitive circuit.
For Aerobics/Fitness: North Face Litewave Ampere

The Litewave Ampere is specifically designed for cardio and fitness classes, so you’ll have support in all the right places. Whether you do Zumba, step, yoga or pilates, these shoes are exactly what you should pack in your duffel.

A good tennis shoe is hard to come by; you need strong ankle support and a durable bottom while still having the freedom of movement to outmaneuver your opponents. That’s what makes the Nike Zoom Vapor 9.5 a true unicorn; it satisfies all these requirements while also looking great. Used by pros like Roger Federer and Tomas Berdych, up your shoe game to the best in the sport.

Price: $88.90 – $189.95
This high top shoes is the most durable shoe on the market. Not only is this a model built to last, but it has superior comfort and support compared to other brands. Asics has long dominated the wrestling shoe game, and this pair is proof of that. For the best grip on the floor while still feeling good, go with some Aggressors.
For Skateboarding: Van’s Half Cab

Price: $31.25 – $85.00
Most skateboarding shoe brands have completely sold out to the fashion and streetwear industries, so it’s hard to find a shoe that will actually perform on the board. Although Vans is included in the prior statement, they still offer a fantastic shoe that gets back to their roots. The Half Cab has been kicking around for many years now, but still is one of the best skateboarding shoes money can by. Originally designed as a signature shoe for Steve Caballero, this shoe shows Vans hasn’t forgotten their roots.
For Basketball: Nike Kyrie 2 and Under Armour Torch Fade

Price: Kyrie 2 $99.95 – $249.99, Torch Fade $71.99 – $149.95
Although many shoes are marketed for any gender, we decided to split this one into a shoe predominantly used by men and one by women. The Kyrie 2 is one of the few instances where an older model is better; many have noted that the Kyrie 3 doesn’t really offer improvement while still being more expensive. Designed for Duke and Cavaliers legend Kyrie Irving, the 2s are undeniably one of the best basketball shoes out there and arguably the best signature shoe available. Obviously, they look incredible (and can be customized on Nike’s website!) but they also provide great feel and high ups. On the other side of the court we have Under Armour’s Torch Fade. These kicks provide great support, especially for those with narrow feet. Even better, these well built shoes will be able to handle the pressure of even the most intense practice regimen.
For the Office: Calvin Klein Ward and Van’s Classic Slip-on

Price: Ward $130.00, Classic Slip-on $26.59 – $150.00
We’re also separating this one, but only because the sleek Ward’s aren’t available in women’s sizing. This pair from Calvin Klein is sleek and subtle enough to be repped at the office, but they definitely leave a statement too. They are a more mature take on the Stan Smith aesthetic. On the other hand, Vans Classic Slip-on’s are never a bad choice. Available in enough colors to match everything in your closet, and with a price where you might even be able to, these are a great go-to. Plus, they’re super comfortable!
For Style: Adidas Superstar

Price: Men’s $37.99 – $209.00, Women’s $64.99 – $169.95
To close our list we move away from athletics and fitness and just feature a great looking pair to hit the streets with: the Adidas Superstars. Iconic in the streetwear community but classic enough to go with any kind of outfit, do yourself a favor and pick up a pair of these shoes. Sure, it’s buying into a trend, but there’s a reason these things caught on; they’re versatile and look fantastic!
